All the world in tiny people
People tangled in the world
In a constant state of memory
What we know is what weāve heard
In my father
In my mother
In my memory of whatās to come
In my sorrow
In my future
You are always never done
All the world in tiny people
People tangled in the world
In a cloudless flow of meaning
What we want is too absurd
And you take a breath
You move in close
I feel your heat near my shoulder
You take a breath
You move away
Cause new things feel scary
All the world in tiny people
People tangled in the world.

History Lesson
03:43
|
|||
The story writes itself
The song begins its end
The people didnāt pay the fine
The price was much too great to mend
This fiction isnāt fact
The story is aloof
The needles in your tiny haystack
Didnāt think youād find the truth
The people were enraged
The sonic boom of youth
Is wasted on this generation
Wasted on a new sensation
And people are at war
And war is still alive
And itās passing on through generations
Still we learn and then we die
And humans can never learn
Cause humans multiply.
And itās too late to learn
To pass it on before we die
Itās too late

Willing to Walk
01:12
|
|||
You think I want something for nothing
All Iām saying is Iām willing to walk.

Stare at the Sun
02:33
|
|||
You waited for that moment
You waited for time to tell
its story
its only glory was in others
Other people
who kept telling you
not to be afraid
not to close your eyes
to stare at the sun.
But who ever got wiser
from going blind?
(Oh yea, thatās right ā most people do.)

If you could read the paper then I wouldnāt have to tell you
that the paper is for fools
If you could read into the picture I wouldnāt have to spell it out
for you
If you could touch the space inside your head
and if you understood it
You could see I never really lied
If you could take your own eyes and put them in backwards
You would witness your unending surprise
You think you know the answers and you see them
in a box of crayons
or in a game you played
And there still might be a reason we were holding hands
in outer space
If you could touch the space inside your head
and if you understood it
you could see I probably over-tried
If you could take your own eyes and put them in backwards
You would kindly apologize to yourself.
(Iām so tired of knowing more than you -
would you wake up to the obvious truth?)

Opinions
03:52
|
|||
I like having quiet calm opinions
But many people prefer the loud kind
Iām a little afraid of people who like the loud kind
Cause they love to drown me out.
I know so many people who want to make me their puppet
And while I have a thing for muppets
Iād rather not be one anymore.
So I guess I have a strong opinion
and itās that I donāt like strong opinions
and so Iād rather you donāt push yours on me
(Please, if you donāt mind. Thank you.)
Many people canāt help their strong opinions
I believe it helps them to survive
They were raised in fields of anger
and didnāt want to be burned alive.
But for me Iām shedding this emotion
and Iāll try to shed the need to shed yours too
cause for me itās all about devotion to the truth
thatās greater than the truth thatās greater thanā¦
So I guess I have a strong opinion
and itās that I donāt like strong opinions
and so Iād rather you donāt push yours on me
(Please, if you donāt mind...
Thank you.)

Infancy
04:24
|
|||
If there arenāt enough words in the sky for you and I
then how will we breathe in the night
When the time is right, you will come to me in a dream
and take me somewhere Iāve always been.
If you could be my friend in the meantime
it would mean the world to me
In my infancy I lay down in your arms
I feel the cold without
But you are safe and kind
and you never ask me to be
what Iām not.

Fear of Flying
02:23
|
|||
You have a fear of flying
yet youāre not afraid to die
So all I want to know is WHY?
You have a fear of failing
yet youāre not afraid to try
So all I want to know is
howād you get to be so wise?
You have a fear of lightening
coming down from the sky.
But somehow you keep walking.

Catalysts
03:33
|
|||
You see beauty in transformation
but you fear the catalysts for change.
You see danger in situations
which are barely even strange.
You see liquid where thereās solid
You see truth where there is light
You see greed where there is hunger
and you see dark where thereās just night.
You see beauty in transformation
but you fear the catalysts for change
You see beauty in transformation
but you fear the catalysts.

People
03:07
|
|||
People think people are funny
but rarely laugh at themselves
People are not made of money
but we keep selling ourselves
And we will never learn
because weāre already learning.
People are not victims of circumstance
"unless they want to be"
People are ordinary people
"Like you, but not like me"
And we will never be different
because we already are.
People think and think and thinkā¦
